Walmart partners with PenguinPickUp in Montreal

Big-box retailer adds to its growing number of co-branded pickup locations
3/10/2020

After launching in Ontario with a pilot project two years ago, Walmart Canada is opening a Walmart/PenguinPickUp location in downtown Montreal. This brings the number of co-branded pick up locations to six across Canada.

Shoppers at Walmart.ca can now order groceries and general merchandise for pick-up at the Mont-Royal Avenue East location. Walmart is charging a $3 fee for the service ($5 on weekends), with a minimum order of $50.

"Montreal's first Walmart/PenguinPickup location in the heart of the city is about providing Montrealers with greater access to Walmart's low prices in a way that is convenient for them," said Alexis Lanternier, Walmart's executive vice-president, e-commerce, in a press release. "Investing in innovation is critical for the future of our business and to deliver on the changing needs of our customers with a more flexible and convenient shopping experience, wherever they live."
