More than 300 executives from across the grocery industry gathered at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto Nov. 20 for the 7th annual Thought Leadership CEO conference.
Carman Allison, VP of consumer insights with Nielsen Canada, new research around consumer confidence, CFIG president Tom Barlow interviewed David Powell, president and CEO of The Powell Group of Companies about the challenges facing independent grocers and Flipp CEO Wehuns Tan stressed the importance of brand evolution.

The day concluded with a panel discussion featuring CEOs from Walmart Canada, Kellogg Canada, McCain Foods Canada and Save-On-Foods that covered such areas as changing demographics, transparency, innovations in health and wellness and the importance of taking risks.
