Adelina’s No Frills opens in Winnipeg

No Frills opens in Winnipeg’s McPhillips district today (June 25).

Located at 1375 McPhillips St., Adelina’s No Frills offers fresh produce, bakery, meat and grocery items.

Led by owner-operator Adelina Marrello, the store employs a team of 70.

“Winnipeg is home. I was born and raised here, and opening this store in my own community is incredibly meaningful,” Marrello said in a press release. “Thousands of hours went into planning, building, stocking and preparing the store before we opened our doors. Every aisle, every department and every detail was set up with our customers in mind.”

Marrello has been with Loblaw Companies since 2005, beginning her career as a front store manager with Shoppers Drug Mart. In 2024, she joined the No Frills Franchisee program and was awarded the McPhillips location. 

As part of the opening, Adelina’s No Frills has donated $1,000 to Andrews Street Family Centre.
