Arterra Wines Canada has added to its portfolio.

The producer of Inniskillin, Jackson-Triggs and Le Clos Jordannehas has purchased Sandbanks Winery in Prince Edward County, Ont.--a two-hour drive East of Toronto. This is Arterra's first winery in Prince Edward County. (Arterra operates eight wineries across Canada and also owns Wine Rack retail stores in Ontario.)

Sandbanks Winery was founded in 2001 by Catherine Langlois and has received accolades for its Riesling and Baco Noir. In a press release, Arterra Wines Canada president and CEO Jay Wright said the company would leverage Langlois's "strength as an industry pioneer and grow the brands for years to come."

Langlois said Sandbanks Winery has grown beyond her wildest dreams and joining Arterra gives it access to greater resources and expertise to grow the business and get it in the hands of more Canadians.
