ATV Farms has acquired Sunfresh Farms Ltd. in a deal that makes the Ontario-based company Canada’s biggest grower, packer and distributor of root vegetables.

The company, which also owns Green Earth Organics, made the announcement Thursday (Feb. 27) at the Sunfresh Farms facility in Edmonton.

ATV Farms now operates more than 7,000 acres of farmland and 300,000 square-feet of processing and packaging facilities. The company said the deal strengthens its ability to serve retail clients in Canada, the U.S. and the Caribbean.

Sunfresh Farms has supplied, processed and packaged fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers for more than 25 years.

“This acquisition allows us to deliver our vegetables more quickly to our grocery partners wherever they are across the country. It aligns with our commitment to supplying the freshest and highest quality vegetables to customers,” said Travis Agresti, partner of ATV Farms, in a release.
