Nortera revealed its newly expanded warehouse in Strathroy, Ont. Tuesday (Feb. 4)—a $25 million project to support the transport of more frozen vegetables across the province.

The frozen and canned vegetable processing company said the expansion to the Wright Street warehouse includes an additional 100,000 square-feet of space and the installation of 8,705 pallet positions of double-deep racking systems.

“This $25 million expansion presents a significant investment in the future of Nortera and the Strathroy community,” said Hugo Boisvert, CEO of Nortera, in a release. “By increasing our capacity and efficiency, we are not only supporting local families and farmers but ensuring that Strathroy remains a key player in Ontario’s agri-food sector for decades to come.”

Nortera employs some 1,000 people across its four facilities in the province, including 275 at the Strathroy warehouse.
