An Asian grocery store in Port Moody, B.C. is closing its doors on August 8.

Georgia Main Food Group’s Meiga Supermarket said the store, which opened in 2024, is shuttering due to “a variety of business factors.”

The Louie family-owned company—which operates eight Fresh St. Market stores and 21 IGA stores in B.C.—said it’s looking for “opportunities and locations for Meiga to operate.”

“We would like to thank our customers and the community for their support,” said Palle Knudsen, vice president, retail operations, Georgia Main Food Group, in a release. “Our human resources and store leadership team will be working closely with our store staff to ensure they are supported during this time of transition.”

Meiga will offer special promotions in all departments until its closure.
