Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards finalists revealed
The Retail Council of Canada has revealed the finalists for its 33rd annual Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards.
This year’s contenders represent 88 food and non-food products launched into the Canadian market in 2025 across private label and national brands.
RCC said consumer expectations for convenience, functional benefits, accessible but premium quality and sustainability are defining product innovation.
“Products are being developed to deliver meaningful benefits, whether that’s improved nutrition, greater convenience, or more sustainable solutions,” said Kim Furlong, president and CEO, Retail Council of Canada, in a press release. “What stands out most is the ability of retailers and manufacturers to bring together quality, functionality, and value in ways that resonate with Canadians’ everyday lives.”
The 2026 Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards feature three new additions, including new finalist and winner seals for packaging and an expanded judging panel with jurors from Canadian Living, Postmedia and Buzzfeed. All winning products will also now receive third-party ratings and reviews from Caddle’s Canadian consumer panel.
This year’s jury is chaired by chef Poyan Danesh, currently serving as culinary director at Ocean Mama Seafood and as the competition chair for the Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia.
The Canadian Grand Prix jury of 30 food and grocery industry experts evaluated products based on innovation, taste, texture, consumer value and packaging.
Winners will be announced on June 3 at the 33rd Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards Gala in Toronto. The gala will mark the closing of RCCSTORE26, RCC’s retail industry conference.
