CFIG’s two-day Western show: Video
With a theme of Grocery Redefined, Grocery and Specialty Food West returned to Vancouver earlier this week to an in-person event, the first in two years.
Presented by the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG), the two-day event served up more than 20 educational sessions covering everything from best practices for store managers to take their stores to the next level to a panel discussion on the grocery code of conduct that looked at where the code sits currently and what principles it must embody.
Hundreds of exhibitors were on the show floor showcasing their innovations, and awards were handed out for GSFW’s Top TEN in Grocery. And the coveted Independent Grocer of the Year awards were presented at an evening gala on Monday night, where Longo’s, Save-On-Foods, Sunripe and 49th Parallel Grocery were among the independent retailers honoured.
