CGHRC launching grocery career campaign
The Canadian Grocery HR Council is launching a national recruitment drive to get people thinking about a career in grocery while also promoting workplace retention strategies to the industry.
The recruitment drive will include outreach to schools, local community organizations, and to employment agencies in search of partnership opportunities to strengthen the relations between industry and the labour market.
There will also be a campaign aimed at grocery retailers to promote the CGHRC’s suite of HR resources for the grocery sector.
CGHRC will unveil its promotional campaign at Grocery Showcase West in Vancouver April 10 to 11. More information will be available at the council's website.
Also at the show, CGHRC is unveiling an online English version of its "Serving Customers with Disabilities" training program and French version of its "Safe Food Handling" training program.
The Serving Customers with Disabilities’ program is around 30 minutes in length and designed to provide an introduction to frontline workers on serving individuals with disabilities.
The French version of the Learning System’s "Safe Food Handling" program, includes seven courses geared to frontline employees, with a grocery-specific emphasis on how to properly handle and process food, along with a list of standard food safety rules.
