CIGBA/DCI reveal their 2025 Star Awards winners

DCI in association with the Canadian Independent Grocery Buyers Alliance (CIGBA) handed out their Star Awards at the groups' Business Summit 2025, which took place at Pearson Convention Centre in Brampton, On. this week. Barry Lanteigne, the group's president/director of operations said the awards are an opportunity to "recognize some of the key individuals, retailers and supplier partners in our industry," for their hard work, dedication and passion.

Here are the 2025 Star Award winners:

Retailer of the Year: Commisso's Fresh Foods

Partner of the Year: CJR Wholesale Grocers

Social Responsibility Award: Mike Dean Local Grocer 

Innovation Award: Rabba Fine Foods 

Leader of the Year: Anthony Iaizzo, CJR Wholesale

Lifetime Achievement Award: Mike Williamson (posthumously) of Central Fresh Market in Kitchener, Ont. The award was accepted by Williamson's son Josh.
