Co-op commits $1 million to community projects across Western Canada

What: The company is investing $1 million in 15 community projects across Western Canada.
Since 2015, Co-op Community Spaces has provided $12.5 million to 175 projects in three categories: recreation, environmental conservation and urban agriculture.
“Coming together to build sustainable communities is what makes Co-op a different kind of business,” said Pam Skotnitsky, vice-president of strategy at Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL), in a statement. “Through Community Spaces, Co-op is able to recognize and support the commitment of people in our communities to ensure there are spaces where people can meet, play, learn and share for years to come.”

FCL administers the program on behalf of more than 160 local Co-ops operating in 600 communities.
