Costco to open large-format warehouse in Belleville, Ont.
A large-format Costco is opening in Belleville, Ont.
Mayor Neil Ellis confirmed the news in a city council meeting on Monday (July 27).
“Costco now has a draft site plan agreement before them for their execution and a building permit can then be finalized and issued,” he said.
To be located on Bell Boulevard, just west of the Shorelines Casino, the warehouse will span 167,000 square feet—larger than the Costco locations in the neighbouring communities of Kingston and Peterborough.
The location will feature an 8,000 square-foot gas bar with 12 double-side pumps that can accommodate 24 automobiles.
Ellis said the construction value for the gas bar and main warehouse total just over $37 million.
Site preparation is slated to begin this fall with construction starting in the spring. The Costco is expected to welcome customers in fall 2027
“We are excited to welcome this new business to Belleville and the new employment opportunities that are expected,” Ellis said. “We’ve been working closely with the Costco team to support its successful integration into our community and help ensure it becomes a valued part of Belleville’s growing business landscape.”
