Costco reports increase in Canadian sales in August

Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of $18.42 billion for the retail month of August, up 5% from $17.55 billion last year.

Comparable sales in Canada were up 3%, while e-commerce fell 2.5%. U.S. sales increased 2.8% and Other International sales were up 7.3%.

Costco currently operates 861 warehouses, including 107 in Canada.

The company is scheduled to release its earnings results for the fourth quarter of 2023 on Sept. 26.
