Costco reports sales gains in November as e-comm takes a hit

Company says online sales were negatively impacted by late U.S. Thanksgiving

Costco is scheduled to release its full results for the first quarter on Dec. 12.

Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net sales of $21.87 billion for the retail month of November.

That’s an increase of 5.6% from $20.71 billion last year. 

Comparable sales in Canada were up 3.7%, compared to 3.1% for the total company. U.S. sales increased 3.4% and other international sales rose by 1.3%. 

E-commerce sales slid -3.1%.

Costco said e-commerce sales in November were negatively impacted by an estimated 15 percentage points, due to Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday occurring a week later this year versus last.

Total and comparable sales were negatively impacted by approximately 1%-1.5% as a result of the dip in e-commerce sales.

For the company’s first quarter of 2025, its net sales topped $60.99 billion—up 7.5% from $56.72 billion.

Costco is scheduled to release its full results for the first quarter on Dec. 12.
