The Crump Group, the Toronto-based manufacturer of such pet treats as Crumps Naturals, Caledon Farms and Dog Delights, has promoted Paul Sproule to president.

Sproule, who joined the company in February 2021 as VP of strategy, will helm the company’s $40-million strategy, which will help it address growing demand in Canada and the U.S., according to a press release.

Sproule will focus on talent acquisition, branded and private-label product innovation, sales growth and market penetration, and in the coming months, The Crump Group will be opening facilities in Mississauga, Ont., Nashville and North Carolina.

With Sproule becoming president, company founders Margot and Joe Crump will join the company’s board of directors, while still playing an active role in daily operations.

“We’ve worked extremely hard to earn the trust of our retailers and consumers over the past 16 years,” said Joe Crump, co-founder and director of The Crump Group, in the release. “Paul’s strong leadership will ensure continued excellence in quality and service while executing our aggressive growth agenda.”
