Former Loblaw executive Dan Branson has joined Mucci Farms as senior director, business and product development. He is based out of the company’s Kingsville, Ont. office.

Branson, a third generation produce professional, is focusing on “strengthening new and existing partnerships as Mucci Farms enters a significant phase in the lifecycle of the company,” the company said in a press release.

“We are just beginning to scratch the surface of tremendous growth across the continent so bringing somebody of Dan’s calibre into the fold gives us unique insight on how to better serve the needs of our retail partners and consumers,” said Danny Mucci, partner and president of sales & marketing.

Branson spent 15 years with Loblaw, working in such areas as procurement, merchandising, brand strategy and innovation, and over the last two decades has forged a "strong working relationship and successful partnership" with Mucci Farms.

The greenhouse grower credits Branson with the growth of its award-winning strawberry program.  “He has always been a champion of the greenhouse industry and above and beyond his specific duties, his extensive knowledge of so many facets of the produce space will allow him to mentor a variety of different leaders in our company," said Joe Spano, partner and VP of sales & marketing.
