Former Shoppers president Domenic Pilla celebrated the new year in style.
According to an article from The Globe and Mail, Pilla received a $25.5-million compensation packaging upon leaving Loblaw earlier this year.
The company announced last July Pilla would be quitting Loblaw to pursue other opportunities. He stayed on with the grocer until the end of 2014, and was replaced by Mike Motz, Loblaw's executive vice-president and chief merchandising officer.
Pilla's compensation package included more than $15 million in "change of control" payments. His basic salary is reported to have been more than $1.1 million.
