Metro has made a few changes in its executive ranks.
The grocer has announced that Marc Giroux has been promoted to the role of executive vice-president and Quebec division head. Giroux, who joined Metro in 2009, most recently held the position of senior vice-president, Metro banner, a role he has held since 2016. Prior to that Giroux was vice-president of marketing at the chain.
The Super C, proximity banners and marketing teams now report to Giroux, and the Metro banner merchandising and operations teams as well as the digital strategy and e-commerce team will continue to report to him.
Christian BourbonnièreGiroux takes over the role from longtime Metro exec Christian Bourbonnière, who has taken on a new role at the company as president of Adonis Group. Bourbonnière joined Metro in 1997 as vice-president of produce and subsequently held the positions of vice-president, produce and bakery products as well as vice-president of procurement and merchandising, fresh produce.
Currently there are 10 Marché Adonis supermarkets in Quebec with three locations in Ontario with a fourth store opening in the province, in Ottawa, this fall.
