Empire-owned Farm Boy is opening its eighth Toronto location next month.
The 23,225-sq.-ft. space is located on the first floor of a new condo building at Dupont Street and Christie Street, in the city's Seaton Village area.
The new Farm Boy opens Nov. 4 and will employ 135 staff members. It will offer a wide variety of farm fresh produce, butcher-quality meats, artisan cheese, fresh dairy and plenty of plant-based and vegan options.
“We have received so much support from our Toronto customers over the years and we are thrilled to share that we are opening a new location on Dupont Street.” said Jean-Louis Bellemare, president and general manager, Farm Boy.
“Those visiting the new location can expect to see the same fresh market experience Torontonians have come to know and love – a wide variety of fresh and unique Farm Boy products, along with exceptional customer service,” added Bellemare.
Empire has been aggressively growing the Farm Boy banner since it acquired the Ontario-based grocer for $800 million in 2018. With Empire behind it, Farm Boy has better access to premium sites all around the Greater Toronto Area and in the downtown core.
Over the last three years, Farm Boy has opened stores in St. Catharines, Ottawa, Newmarket, Oakville and downtown Toronto, and it will continue to grow with the opening of two more locations by the end of the year.
