Sandwich spreads just got a lot more interesting with the latest line of flavoured, all-natural mayonnaise launched this season from Neal Brothers.
Made with organic, free-run eggs, the new line features Truffle, Sriracha and Lime mayonnaise options in addition to a classic flavour.
“We worked very hard to create a locally produced, GMO-free mayo,” says Peter Neal, co-owner of the Toronto-based distributor of gourmet condiments.
While travelling and looking at grocery shelves in different parts of the world, Neal and his team noticed that there were interesting flavours of mayo elsewhere, and little in Canada to compare.
“The inspiration for flavours came out of a family brainstorm meeting where we rated the most fun, tasty and trending gourmet flavours that we enjoy at home ourselves,” he says.
The new flavours, which the company says are already “flying off shelves,” are expected to appeal to consumers who appreciate quality food and like to experiment.
It’s no wonder–according to a recent study from research firm Technomic, 27% of Canadian consumers are more likely to try new and unique flavours and ingredients on sandwiches than on other types of food.
“Mayonnaise is one of those ingredients that’s the perfect accompaniment to a BLT sandwich, or it can add a whole other level of flavour by using it as a marinade for chicken and fish dishes,” says co-owner Chris Neal. “We are so pleased these new mayos are such a hit with our Canadian fans.”
The product launch is being supported by a radio, TV, print and online campaign targeting food bloggers and social media outlets. The line, currently
