The Frank H. Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies names 2026 recipients
Who: The Frank H. Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies
What: The foundation has named eight students from Atlantic Canadian universities as this year's winners of the Frank H. Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies.
The recipients were selected from 34 finalists nominated by the deans of their respective business schools for their community impact, with a focus on entrepreneurship.
They will be recognized at a celebratory luncheon on March 26.
The 2026 winners are:
- Sujit Acharya, Nepal - Acadia University
- Russell Noseworthy, St. John's - Memorial University
- Bentley Huffington, Calgary - Mount Allison University
- Charles Anderson, Balls Creek, Cape Breton, N.S. - Mount St. Vincent University
- Olivian Sanderson, Pugwash, N.S. – Saint Mary's University
- Conrad Scotchburn, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia – Saint Mary's University
- Isaac Hierlihy, Quispamsis, N.B. - St. Francis Xavier University
- Jona White, Vancouver - St. Francis Xavier University
The students will each receive $45,000 and be paired with a mentor through the award's mentorship program.
The remaining 26 finalists will each receive $3,500 in recognition of their achievements.
