Who: Giant Tiger

What: The discount retailer held an in-store fundraising campaign-- Giant Tiger's Round-up Campaign to Fill Plates--from Sept. 27 to Oct. 10 that raised $38,049 (76,098 meals) for local food banks and families in need.

In addition to the in-store efforts, Giant Tiger ran its annual brown bag campaign earlier this month, offering customers the opportunity to purchase $5 bags filled with select grocery items to be donated to their local food banks.

"Giant Tiger is a people-first organization and we are dedicated to serving the communities we call home. We recognize that by working to end food insecurity we are working to build healthier communities," said Giant Tiger president and CEO Paul Wood, in a press release.
