Healthy Planet launches grant to support small Canadian brands
Healthy Planet has launched a grant to support emerging Canadian brands.
The health and wellness e-commerce company and Ontario retail chain’s Homegrown Grant offers $1 million in Healthy Planet media value to help health and wellness brands build awareness and reach new consumers.
Brands must be early in their journey, Canadian-owned and -headquartered, family-owned or founder-led and new to Healthy Planet’s Shelves.
Eligible brands will be shortlisted by Healthy Planet based on its own sales data and selection criteria.
The $1 million in Healthy Planet media value will be distributed among selected brands, providing exposure through visibility and promotional programs across stores and the retailer’s e-commerce channel.
"We have been a Canadian family business since 1995, and we remember what it took to get noticed," said Muhammad Mohamedy, general manager at Healthy Planet, in a statement. "Today we meet founders with wonderful products who are up against global brands whose marketing budgets they will never match. Visibility is the one thing we can give them that they would otherwise have to buy. When a shopper discovers a homegrown brand and comes back for it, that brand gets to hire someone, add a product, and stay on the shelf. That is the impact we are after."
