Kruger’s Michel Manseau to retire, Michael Urlick tapped as successor
Michel Manseau, senior vice-president and general manager of Canada Consumer Sales at Kruger Products, is retiring from the company.
Michael Urlick has been tapped as Manseau’s successor, effective May 4.
Manseau steps down after a 37-year career with the manufacturer. He will remain a member of Kruger’s executive team as a special advisor.
Urlick joined Kruger in July of last year as senior vice-president of business development. He previously spent more than a decade at Clearwater Paper Corporation, moving up the ranks to senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Products Division.
“On behalf of the company please join us in congratulating Michel on this significant milestone and thanking him for his incredible contribution to our company’s success,” the company said in a statement.
“[Michel] has been instrumental in building capabilities through his development
of people and ensuring the prominence of our brands on retail shelves across the
country. He played a pivotal role in the transition of Scott Paper to Kruger Products and
has been a driver and champion for our brands,” Kruger’s statement reads.
The company said Manseau and Urlick will work closely together to transition responsibilities.
In a 2022 interview with Canadian Grocer following his Golden Pencil Award win, Manseau said of his time at Kruger: “You never know when you start with a company how long it’s going to last. I think the honeymoon has been pretty good."
