Loblaw named merchandiser of the year by Florida association

The Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association presented its merchandiser of the year award to Loblaw Cos. at its 69th annual convention held Sept. 18-21 in Naples, Fla.

In nominating the company, David Neill, president of Florida’s Diamond Tomato Co., Triangle Farms and Big Red Tomato Packers, said in an article that Loblaw has proven to be a strong supporter of Big Red Tomato Packers as well as supporting a variety of Florida products from other vendors.

He added Loblaw champions direct farm sourcing by working directly with farmers, employing local representatives to facilitate direct farm supply lines and featuring Florida products throughout Canada.
