Loblaw rebrands Save Easy stores

Your Independent Grocer may soon become Atlantic Canada's Independent Grocer as well.

According to an article from the Chronicle Herald, Loblaw is rebranding its Save Easy locations in Atlantic Canada, introducing the Your Independent Grocer banner to the region.

Mark Boudreau, director of corporate affairs at Loblaw, told the Herald 41 Save Easy locations would be converted.

Fifteen will be converted this month, with the remaining to be finished over the next few years. Locations affected include 13 in Nova Scotia, 20 in New Brunswick, and four each in Newfoundland and Labrador and Price Edward Island. Each rebuild will cost between $250,000 to $350,000 or more. In total, the launch is estimated to cost $10-million.

The Save Easy renovations will include Your Independent Grocer rebranding, plus more fresh products and meat service. But the Atlantic district manager for Loblaw assured local ownership, management and staff would remain the same.
