Lyne Castonguay is out at Saputo.
The Quebec-based dairy company announced Wednesday afternoon that Castonguay, president and chief operating officer, dairy division (USA), had left the company, effective immediately.
In addition to his current duties, Carl Colizza, president and chief operating officer (North America), will step in to replace Castonguay. Colizza will continue to report to Saputo chair of the board, president and chief executive officer Lino A. Saputo.
In a press release, Colizza extended a “heartfelt thanks” to Castonguay for her leadership and dedication to the company and said the change was made as part of Saputo’s focus on “accelerating our operational performance improvements and further advancing our Global Strategic Plan initiatives in our USA Sector.”
“The success of the sector remains a top priority and we are taking appropriate actions to deliver on our strategic priorities and improve our profitability”, he added.
Castonguay is a former Sobeys executive, having joined the grocer as chief merchandising officer in 2016. Prior to Sobeys, Castonguay spent 14 years with Home Depot. She has also held positions with General Electric and Maple Leaf Foods.
