Manitoba farmer says cattle feed tampered with
Culprits cut plastic on piles of feed, says Winnipeg farmers
A Manitoba farmer says someone came on to her property and tampered with food for her cattle.
Lisa Dyck, owner of the farm Cornell Creme, said on Halloween night the silage piles in her farm field were cut.
She says she keeps the feed for her cows, which is meant to last all winter, under a protective plastic to prevent mould.
Dyck says damage is extensive and could be more than $100,000, but fortunately she and her team were able to patch the rip in the plastic.
Dyck said she wants vandals to know how costly something such as this can be to farmers, and how much damage they could have actually done.
Cornell Creme is about 40 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.
