Montreal is getting a new Maxi.

The Quebec discount grocery chain is opening a 13,000 square-foot store at the former Forum, located at 2313 Saint-Catherine Street West in downtown Montreal.

Representing a multi-million dollar investment, the supermarket promises to offer a wide selection of fresh food and groceries. Customers will find more than 6,000 products from Quebec, along with a broad assortment of multicultural foods, ready-to-eat meals and natural and organic products

The store will also offer the benefits of the Imbattable and PC Optimum programs.

Maxi’s new Montreal location is slated to open in 2027. Construction and fit-out work is currently underway.

"We are very proud to be opening a store in such an iconic location as the former Forum. This neighborhood is dynamic, diverse, and undergoing significant transformation. Our goal is simple: to provide local residents, families, students, and everyone who lives or works in the area with a grocery store where they can save on their grocery bill without compromising on quality or selection. We look forward to opening our doors in 2027 and becoming part of this community," said Patrick Blanchette, senior vice-president of Maxi, in a press release.

Maxi is owned by Loblaw Companies Ltd.
