Metro donating to Ukraine relief efforts
The Quebec-based grocer is making a $100,000 donation and also giving customers the chance to give at checkout

What: The Quebec-based grocer is donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal.
In addition, customers shopping Metro-owned banners including Food Basics, Super C, Adonis, Jean Coutu and Brunet in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick will be asked to donate $2 at checkout.
“We know this devastating war hits close to home for many of our employees and customers who have family and friends living in Ukraine and Metro wants to show its support,” said Metro president and CEO Eric La Flèche, in a press release.
