Metro names its managers of the year in Quebec
At its annual kick-off meeting on Aug. 27, Metro Inc. announced the six top managers in Quebec.
Managers of the year were: Peter Forgaty, Metro Plus Forgaty, Charlemagne; Louis Dufresne, L. Dufresne et Fils, Val David; Marc Picard, Metro St-David, Québec; Sylvain Daigle, Metro Wilderton, Montreal; Sylvain Bissonnette, Metro Marieville, Marieville; and Michel Bisson and Mylène Renaud, Metro St-Marc, St-Marc-des-Carrières.
These six managers distinguished themselves among the province's 215 Metro stores on different criteria, including customer service excellence, showcasing of products, in-store execution and optimal layout.
“The Excellence Awards are designed to celebrate entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, commitment to the community, as well as the expertise and professionalism of our managers and their employees. It's an opportunity for us to salute the quality of the work carried out by our managers who set themselves apart and we thank them for outdoing themselves all year long not only in their store, but also in their community”, said Christian Bourbonnière, senior vice-president, Quebec Division, Metro Inc. in a release.
At the event, Metro Inc. paid tribute to Thérèse Deslauriers, who has been doing her grocery shopping at Metro for the past 65 years.
The 99 year-old Deslauriers was given a standing ovation by the 1,200 people gathered at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
Metro president and CEO, Eric La Flèche, and Daniel Lafrance, owner of the Marché Metro Sainte-Madeleine where she does her shopping, presented her with a $1,000 Metro gift card in appreciation of her loyalty.
