Joe Fusco, senior vice president of Metro Ontario, has taken on the role of the chair of The Grocery Foundation’s board of directors.
Fusco will helm the board comprising industry leaders.
The foundation brings together retailers, manufacturers and companies in support of its mission to raise funds benefiting school-aged children.
Known for its annual Night to Nurture Gala, Toonies for Tummies campaign and School Breakfast program, the foundation works with student nutrition programs across Western Canada, Ontario and Atlantic Canada to help children access healthy foods.
"As a long-serving member of the Grocery Foundation board, I've witnessed the extraordinary impact this charitable foundation has made, in so many communities. Stepping into the role of board chair, I am honoured to continue working with this incredible team of passionate and like-minded individuals on our mission to help feed hungry children in Canada by providing them with a healthy start to their day," Fusco said in a statement.
