Metro, Super C and Adonis team up to help Food Banks Quebec
Who: Metro, Super C and Adonis
What: The Metro Inc.-owned banners are working together to rise money in support of Food Banks Quebec, by inviting customers to add a $2 donation to their grocery bill at checkout.
The money raised during the campaign, which runs May 26 to June 12, will be used to provide food aid services across the province to those in need.
“Because food insecurity is an issue for many of our fellow citizens, Metro is proud to put its network of food stores at the service of a cause that has been close to its heart for many years,” said Marie-Claude Bacon, vice-president, public affairs and communications, Metro Inc.
Since 2014, more than 200 Metro, Super C and Adonis stores have participated in the Food Banks of Quebec’s Supermarket Recovery Program. Last year the stores donated 3,133,000 kilograms of consumable food that otherwise would have gone to waste.
