Metro taps former Walmart exec as SVP of national procurement

Metro has hired former Walmart Canada executive Pietro John Rollo as senior vice president of national procurement.

Rollo steps into the role on Jan. 30 and will report to Carmen Fortino, executive vice president, national supply chain and procurement.

The executive brings more than 20 years of experience in the food sector to Metro. 

He most recently served as vice president of food at Walmart Canada, where he worked for two years and held various positions including vice president of fresh and private brands and vice president of private brands, quality and food sourcing.
