Mucci Farms acquires Orangeline Farms

Mucci Farms has acquired controlling interest of Orangeline Farms, including its 32-acre greenhouse and warehouse facilities. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2002 and located in Leamington, Ont., Orangeline Farms is best known for its peppers grown under the Zing! Healthy Foods brand. Mucci Farms will continue to use the Zing! brand "as it has quietly established itself among retailers and consumers," according to a press release.

"It's an exciting time for the company as we continue our aggressive expansion plans to increase our local and regional production... Consumers are demanding more local production, and we're listening," said Mucci Farms CEO Bert Mucci.

In addition to the Orangeline Farms deal, the company added 15 acres to its 60-acre project in Huron, Ohio. "The Ohio program has gotten off to a great start and we're looking forward to growing our presence in the community and the regional market," said Mucci.
