New chair named at The Grocery Foundation

The board of directors of The Grocery Foundation announced that Andre Gagné, vice-president, fresh merchandising at Metro Ontario Inc. is its new chair.

He has been a member of the board for the past four years and replaces Dale MacDonald, senior VP national procurement at Sobeys.

In his new capacity, Gagné will lead The Grocery Foundation as it fulfills its mandate to feed hungry children in Ontario.

The Grocery Foundation is a not-for-profit representing leaders from Canada's grocery industry.

Established in 1979, to date the foundation has raised more than $75 million that has gone toward more than 250 organizations meeting the health and wellness needs of children.
