Carolyn Spriet has been named president of Hallmark Canada, succeeding Cindy Mahoney who was promoted to co-CEO Hallmark International earlier this year.

In her role as president, Spriet will oversee strategy, business operations and key customer relationships.

Spriet was most recently vice-president and general manager for Sun Products Canada--a standalone company that was formed in 2008 after Unilever sold its laundry business to a private equity firm.

During her time at Sun Products, Spriet lead a team of more than 60 employees in areas such as sales, trade and brand marketing strategy, logistics and customer relationships.

"With her extensive experience in the Canadian market – as well as her focus on continuous improvement and cost structure transformation--Carolyn will be uniquely positioned to leverage her knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape to help us win," Mahoney said in a press release.
