Ontario produce associations delivering food to families in need

OPMA and TWPA have partnered to pack and deliver boxes of produce to community organizations
12/17/2021

Who: The Ontario Produce Marketing Association (OPMA) in partnership with the Toronto Wholesale Produce Association (TWPA)

What: The associations distributed more than 1,200 boxes of fresh produce to families in need across the province.

Packed by volunteers at the Ontario Food Terminal on Dec. 18, the produce hampers were to be delivered to 15 different organizations and distributed to local families.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has caused greater food insecurity, so we are pleased to be able to continue the initiative this year. The hampers, which will be delivered to food banks across Ontario, contain enough fruit, nuts, and vegetables, for a family of two adults and two children for an entire week,” said OPMA president Michelle Broom, in a press release.
