Overwaitea names new president

Overwaitea Food Group has named Darrell Jones as its new president.

The Canadian Federation of Independent Grocer's posted on its news feed that Jones will take on his new role March 9.

Current president Steve van der Leest will be retiring.

According to the company's Overwaitea president annoucement(download here), Jones has been with the company for 37 years, having started as a bagger in Cranbrook, B.C.

He has worked in 23 different stores across B.C.

For the past 10 years, has been a key member of the senior management team at Overwaitea.
