Overwaitea purchases Zellers, Bay pharmacy business in B.C., Alta.

The Overwaitea Food Group has entered into an agreement to purchase all of Zellers’ pharmacy business including prescription files in B.C. and the majority of Zellers’ pharmacy business including prescription files in Alberta as well as from The Bay stores in Vancouver, Victoria, Prince George and Edmonton.

“We’re proud of our strong history of exceptional, high-quality patient care provided by pharmacy professionals who care about the health and well-being of our clients and their families. We make managing health easier with convenient prescription refills, safe medication disposal and leading health offerings like specialty clinics, vaccinations and medication management services.”

OFG has pharmacies in 97 stores across B.C. and Alta.,neighbouring Zellers and The Bay locations.

The company said it has a customer-focused transition plan in place to ensure continuity of care for Zellers' and The Bay's pharmacy patients.
