P.E.I. next province looking to ban sale of flavoured tobacco
Nova Scotia first province to implement ban two weeks ago
The Prince Edward Island government has introduced legislation that would ban the sale of flavoured tobacco in the province.
Health Minister Doug Currie tabled the legislation Tuesday.
Currie says the proposed restrictions were prompted by concerns brought forward by advocacy groups like the Canadian Cancer Society.
Nova Scotia recently became the first province to implement a ban on the sale of flavoured tobacco.
Four other provinces are going through the legislative process to do the same, including Ontario, Quebec and Alberta.
