Longo’s opened its newest location in Etobicoke, Ont., this morning.

“Etobicoke is an incredible community that has been part of the Longo’s story since my grandfather, along with his two brothers, started frequenting the Ontario Food Terminal in 1956,” said Thomas Longo, director, produce & floral, Longo’s.

Longo’s Queensway, located at 1055 The Queensway, marks the 43rd store for the grocer and is located about 8 minutes west of the food terminal.

“We're so grateful to this community, who continues to support our organization and our family. For three generations, Longo’s has been dedicated to offering our guests a remarkable experience, one that is focused on being fresh and with a commitment to our local partners,” adds Longo.

Along with a robust grocery offering, the location features a stone-pizza and gourmet sandwich program, hot buffet, salad bar, ready-to-go meals, a sushi and poke bar, an in-store Starbucks and a selection of local beer and wine.

The Queensway store also features The Loft Cooking School, which offers hands-on classes, private events and community programs for all ages.

“It takes a lot to make a store like this come together. It goes without saying that many hours went into the planning, construction and design of this building to make it the best shopping experience for our guests when they’re making decisions about buying one of the most important things they can buy, food for their family,” said Deb Craven, president, Longo’s.
