Metro has opened a new store in Niagara Falls.
The 44,000 square-foot location is the banner’s 131st store in Ontario. Metro has hired a team of 130 employees for the location.
Customers will be able to shop a variety of fresh and local products including Foodland Ontario produce, Irresistibles and Selection products, ready-made meals, a full floral section, pharmacy and Nature’s Signature. The store will also offer free electric vehicle charging stations and online click-and-collect ordering.
“This new store is a true reflection of Niagara Falls. We are giving customers what they want including an expanded health and wellness offering, local products through our Locally Sourced program and a great selection of ready-made meals including stone baked artisan pizza and fresh rotisserie chicken. It is important to us that our store integrates with the community, so we’ve tailored our product offering and store décor to the neighbourhood,” said Joe Fusco, senior vice president, Metro, in a statement.
Inside, the décor features photos of local landmarks to pay tribute to the surrounding community.
As part of the opening, Metro will donate $10,000 to Project Share, which is affiliated with Feed Ontario – Metro’s long-time partner, notably through the grocer’s food recovery program, One More Bite.
“We are so excited to be joining the Niagara Falls community. Our goal is to provide our customers with the best shopping experience possible,” said Tony Cocchiara, store manager. “I’m looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming everyone to our new and modern store.”
