PHOTO GALLERY: Star Women in Grocery Ceremony 2023
Canadian Grocer’s Star Women in Grocery ceremony brought together industry leaders on Wednesday (Sept. 20) to celebrate 57 women who have demonstrated expertise, innovation, vision and leadership in the grocery business.
The half-day, sold-out event kicked off with a keynote presentation from Pattison Food Group’s Brenda Kirk, who shared stories from her “wildly imperfect” career and stressed the importance of perseverance and leading with authenticity in business.
Following the keynote was by a panel discussion featuring four of this year’s winners: Tree of Life’s Randa Hassanie, Unilever’s Julie Filipuzzi, Sobey’s Karen White-Boswell and Loblaw’s Lori Verna.
Moderated by editor-in-chief Shellee Fitzgerald, the panelists shared insights on a range of topics including corporate culture, the importance of mentorship and mastering the work-life balance. (Check out Canadian Grocer’s November 2023 issue for more coverage of this year’s event.)
