Another brand of apricot kernels has been added to a growing list of recalled products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume apricot kernel products packed by Wah Yan Tong because they, too, contain dangerous levels of a toxin that can cause acute cyanide poisoning.

The brand joins a national recall list that includes Our Father’s Farm and Organic Traditions. This most recent recall covers Bitter Apricot Kernels (UPC 6 28110 69950 3) and Sweet Apricot Kernels (UPC 6 28110 69948 0) sold in 150-gram bags.

This recall was triggered by CFIA test results. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
