Save-On-Foods' Port Moody store is scheduled to open mid-September.

Save-On-Foods is coming to Port Moody, B.C. this fall with a new, small-format supermarket.

The grocer is opening a 13,000 square foot store at 221 Ioco Road—formerly occupied by Meiga Supermarket, which announced earlier this week that it would be closing its doors in August.

Slated to open mid-September, the new Save-On-Foods will feature a full selection of fresh produce, meat, dairy and grocery essentials alongside local favourites and exclusive Save-On-Foods signature items.

Customers will also find Save-On-Foods Kitchen offerings like fresh sushi and bento boxes, Western Family products and a variety of freshly baked, locally made cakes and pies.

Steve McCue will serve as store manager.

Save-On-Foods last operated in Port Moody in the eighties under the Your Mark-It banner.

“We’re so excited to be back in Port Moody,” said Jamie Nelson, president of Save-On-Foods parent company Pattison Food Group, in a release. “This new store reflects our commitment to meeting the unique needs of each neighbourhood we serve. It’s a great location that will deliver the same great quality, service, and local products our customers know and love—just in a more compact footprint.”
