Sol Cuisine has entered into an agreement to be purchased by PlantPlus Foods for $125.4 million, in a deal that is expected to close February 2022.

Established in 1980, Sol Cuisine is a Toronto-based producer of plant-based foods such as appetizers, burgers and entrees that are distributed in Canada and the United States.

In a press release, Sol Cuisine founder and president Dror Balshine said the deal provided the company with access to additional capital, best-in-class ingredient suppliers and leading food technologies.

“We look forward to building the future of the Company together based on a mutual commitment to producing plant-based foods that are both superior in taste and uncompromising in nutrition," said Balshine.
