Mississauga, Ont.-based Sol Cuisine has appointed Adam Kozak as its new chief financial officer effective Aug. 9. Kozak will replace outgoing CFO David McLaren, who, the company says, will stay on to provide support through a transitional period.

Kozak brings 20 years of experience in finance, M&A integration and investor relations to the role. He was previously CFO at TerrAscend Corp. and spent more than a decade at Loblaw Companies Limited where he held progressive roles in finance, investor relations, M&A integration, loyalty and consumer insights.

“Adam comes to the company with a unique combination of broad financial experience at Canada’s largest grocer, as well as a track record of astute financial leadership through periods of rapid expansion, which will be invaluable as Sol Cuisine executes on several important growth initiatives over the next 12 months,” said John Flanagan, the company’s CEO in a release.

Established in 1980, Sol Cuisine is a fast-growing producer of plant-based foods such as appetizers, burgers and entrees that are distributed in Canada and the United States.
