Sol Cuisine heading south
Sol Cuisine, the Toronto-based manufacturer of vegeterian foods, is leaping into the U.S. market.
The 31-year-old company, whose product lineup includes Solgurt organic yogurt and vegeterian burgers, will focus its U.S. expansion on the Northeast region to start.
"Our veggie burgers are already top performers in Canada," Dror Balshine, president of Sol Cuisine noted. "The combined strength of our products' great taste, cleaner ingredients and superior health benefits position us to experience the same success in America."
Sol Cuisine products are already sold here in Canada at Whole Foods, Loblaw's stores, Sobeys and Metro. The company hopes to add its lines into even more stores here as well as in restaurants throughout the year.
To aid the expansion strategy, Sol Cuisine has appointed Jess Abramson to the position of director of branded sales. Abramson, who is vegetarian, previously led successful campaigns as an account manager at the adlib group for companies such as Just Us Coffee Roasters Co-op and New York Fries.
